the right age to bring in a child for a dental check-up is as early as 6 months to within 1 year of age when teeth start to develop and parents need to know how to care for these emerging teeth. It maybe at this stage most importantly the child needs to start getting comfortable with the environment, sights, sounds and smells of the dental office.
You as parents will be counseled about how to handle dental issues even before they occur. From making brushing fun to looking out for cavities and bad habits to watch out , you will know it all by the time they walk out of the clinic.
The sooner children begin getting regular dental checkups, the healthier their mouths will stay throughout their lives. Early checkups help prevent cavities and tooth decay, which can lead to pain, trouble concentrating and other medical issues. Youngsters with healthy teeth chew food easily, learn to speak clearly and smile with confidence.
We have seen great co-operation ,responsiveness and less fuss and crying as we have a team of well experienced pedodontists.
When it comes to baby teeth we offer a host of preventive solutions:
The baby teeth are important as they are place-holders for your baby’s permanent teeth. Early loss of baby teeth can cause problems. This space needs to be saved in order for the permanent tooth to come in a straight line with a “the Space Maintainer”.
To prevent cavities from forming on the chewing surfaces of your permanent molars, we recommend “Dental Sealants” Sealants are a thin coating of a plastic-like substance that are painted on the child’s teeth.
“Fluoride varnish” is safe and used to help prevent tooth decay in children. Only a small amount is used, and hardly any fluoride is swallowed. It is quickly applied and hardens. Then it is brushed off after 4 to 12 hours.
